چکیده

Ground penetrating radar (commonly called GPR) is a high resolution electromagnetic technique that is designed primarily to investigate the shallow subsurface of the earth, building materials, and roads and bridges. GPR has been developed over the past thirty years for shallow, high resolution investigations of the subsurface. GPR is a time-depen dent geophysical technique that can provide a 3-D pseudo image of the subsurface, includ ing the fourth dimension of color, and can also provide accurate depth estimates for many common subsurface objects. Under favorable conditions, GPR can provide precise infor mation concerning the nature of buried objects. It has also proven to be a tool that can be operated in boreholes to extend the range of investigations away from the boundary of the hole.

Advanced Inversion Techniques for Ground Penetrating Radar

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) systems are nowadays standard inspection tools in several application areas, such as subsurface prospecting, civil engineering and cultural heritage monitoring. Usually, the raw output of GPR is provided as a B-scan, which has to be further processed in order to extract the needed information about the inspected scene. In this framework, inverse-scattering-based a...

Implementation of Bpsk Modulation for Ground Penetrating Radar Application

The aim of the paper is to design a digital BPSK modulator for Ground Penetrating Radar applications. . The BPSK (Binary Phase Shift Keying) is one of the three basic binary modulation techniques. It has as a result only two phases of the carrier, at the same frequency, but separated by 180o. In this paper we took modulation as a main stream and analyzed about BPSK modulation technique on Xilin...

Effective Radiation Efficiency of Resistor-Loaded Bow-Tie Antenna Covered with Ferrite-Coated Conducting Cavity Located above Ground Surface

This paper analyzes the effective radiation efficiency of a ground-penetrating radar (GPR) consisting of two resistor-loaded bow-tie antennas covered with a ferrite-coated conducting cavity by using finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The GPR is located above a lossless or lossy ground surface. The relation between the radiation powers into the ground and air, dissipated powers at the ...
